Recently I’ve been upping my makeup game and proudly so, and thought to give it a go at a few more beauty product reviews. Today it’s the Benefit They’re Real! Push-Up Liner, an eyeliner that’s a gel and pen at the same time. Now back in May I attended the Benefit Secret Launch in Dundrum, which you can read about here, and received a gift bag with the new liner, mascara and makeup remover from their They’re Real! collection.
Product: Benefit They’re Real Push-Up Liner
This new eyeliner is a matte black gel formula that comes in pen form, with an innovative AccuFlex Tip that’s designed to hug the lashline and prevent the product from clumping up your lashes. Its formula won’t smudge, budge or dry out with Benefit’s slogan that “the closer the line, the bigger the eye.” It’s also a waterproof liner, so it will last all day long. Available to buy in the Benefit Boutique, Boots, Debenhams, Clerys & Arnotts at €25.
Verdict for Benefit They’re Real! Push-Up Liner – 3.5/5
What I do love about eyeliner is that is does last all day, it does have a great black matte look, and it does make your eyes pop. To be honest, there are pros & cons to this product, though the pros outweigh the latter. To start, the formula itself is a nice creamy texture however I have noticed it can clump on the eyelid if using two coats for a blacker look. The liner does glide onto the eye well, though you have to twist the pen for a good bit for the right amount of product to come out and sometimes it does gather at the top of the tip. Benefit advise to twist and wipe some on the back of your hand so as to not constantly have to twist the product. This eyeliner is very permanent, which is great from am to pm, but I have noticed it doesn’t come off easily at all unless you use the Benefit They’re Real! Remover makeup remover, meaning you have to buy the product to remove this product. Cheeky but magical when you do use them together. Overall I’m happy with this liner, but I think I just need more practice applying it.
