London Fashion Week – September 13th

Lfw

Barbara Casasola

The Brazilian designer showcased her Spring 2015 RTW collection with an ode to her native country. Earthtones in classic silhouettes with seamless finishes, shiny silks and cut outs were the main features in this simply chic fashion show.

Emilia Wickstead

I adore the message behind the inspiration for this collection;I had this vision of a young girl getting dressed up for a night out, dancing in front of the mirror…and very excited at perhaps seeing her crush at the club that night,” so said the designer post-show. And she delivered a brilliantly youthful collection with fruity pastels and tangerine hues in fun & flirty styles and strong textures throughout whilst keeping it all sophisticated.

Sibling

The Sibling fashion show saw a fun side to New York in the 1980s in London, reminiscent of the daring styles of patry girls and fashionistas alike. Embellishment, kooky patterns, ruffles and exaggerated shoulders featured, with every model donning an oversized bow headband, that seemed to grow in size from open to close.

Julien Macdonald

The Welsh designer walked proudly post-show smiling from ear to ear, and deservedly so. His collection was beautiful, powerful and even featured a bridal mini dress & veil! His signature patterns featured in some of the dresses, while some were more tame but still very chic, in powdery and vibrant palettes.

Holly Fulton

The Holly Fulton show was extremely fun and pleasing on the eyes with the designer’s vibrant variety of patterns, checked pieces, yellows & turquoises and especially the bright eyeliner worn by the models on the lower waterline.

House of Holland

Henry Holland is one of my favourites to watch, his designs are always fun and girly so when this collection came out on the runway with its 1970s throwback, you know it was gonna be a good one. There were florals in dark forest hues, clashing prints, shiny skirts and lots of cat liner. One thing I adored was the lack of cleavage on show, it was so respectable and so much fun.

Orla Kiely

It’s always amazing to see an Irish designer showcasing during Fashion Week, so for Orla Kiely’s Spring 2015 RTW collection, all eyes on the fashion. A lover of the garden, this selection featured many floral prints with quirky details like the designer’s shoe collection with retro floweres, there was a fair amount of pastel pink, oversized floral handbags and a painted flower garden backdrop for all to see.

Marchesa

One of my all-time favourite designers celebrated their 10th anniversary in the business during LFW. Georgina Chapman & Keren Craig sent out their collection with a seriously fashionable bang; romantic frothy tiered gowns with colourful floral appliqué, vibrant bird prints on statement black, ruffles, lace, embroidery and more flowers, it was pure romance in a dress. There’ll be plenty of women still oohing and aahing over this collection.
