Review: Stila One Step Illuminate*

For the past few weeks I have been testing out some beauty products for review purposes, and today’s review is Stila One Step Illuminate. Following the Stila Bombshell Brows event I attended at the end of January, I was quite intrigued to use this product as I do like a bit of shimmer and am always open to using new illuminators. I also had not previously used Stila before so I was curious to test this brand out.

Product: Stila One Step Illuminate

This skin-tone illuminating serum promises a glowing complexion in just one step, hence the collection’s name. It features a very interesting triple-swirled helix serum that aims to help improve skin tone, evens out your complexion and helps smooth fine lines and wrinkles. The Pale pink shade helps warm the complexion, the Champagne shade helps highlight and the Kitten shade brightens and illuminate. Available in Harvey Nichols at Dundrum Town Centre, selected Boots and Marks & Spencer stores, at €32

Verdict: Stila One Step Illuminate – 4/5

I really do like this illuminator! It adds a lovely sheer layer around the eye & upper cheek areas, without being too in-your-face shimmery. You could also use it as a light base coverage too. It indeed improves the skin texture over my foundation, creating a smooth finish as well as covering up my imperfections around the eye area. I was really intrigued by that triple-swirled formula and you only have to pump out a small amount of the product & dab in gently with your fingers or blend in with a brush to get the desired look. The shimmer within the formula also means I don’t need to use my shimmery highlighter afterwards, meaning less products being used and that is always a plus. I’ve also noticed that oil production has minimized. One Step Illuminate is a great product to use in my daily makeup routine, which I’ll definitely continue to use. Killer Fashion recommends!

Have you tried & tested this or other Stila products?

*Note: I did receive this product from sponsors, however this review & opinion are 100% my own.
